Overview
The University of South Wales (Welsh: Prifysgol De Cymru) is a state-funded college in Wales, with grounds in Cardiff, Newport, and Pontypridd. It was framed on 11 April 2013 from the consolidation of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. The college is the second biggest college in Wales as far as its understudy numbers and offers around 200 undergrad and postgraduate courses. The college has three principal resources across its grounds in South Wales.
Another grounds in Dubai was opened in September 2018 in Dubai South situated close to Al-Maktoum International Airport. The courses offered were British Bachelor certificates which incorporate Aviation Maintenance Engineering and postgraduate courses including MSc International Logistics and Supply Chain Management. From September 2020 it was reported that the grounds would not acknowledge further applications and would close.In 2018 the University was censured by common liberties campaigners when it granted privileged doctorates to two senior figures in the UAE government, Ahmed canister Saeed Al Maktoum and Nahyan receptacle Mubarak Al Nahyan, at the grounds' initial service
In 2017, the college entered the main five percent of colleges on the planet in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
In the 2017 National Student Survey the University was put equivalent 140 out of 149 colleges and foundations overviewed. The Complete University Guide 2016/7 positioned the college as 99 out of 127 UK colleges.
The University didn't take part in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework which is an administration appraisal of the nature of undergrad instructing in colleges and other advanced education suppliers.
