UTP Stage-II Science Leading to Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Chemistry

Chemistry is the science that combines the structures and reactions of molecules, atoms, and systems that involve the two. Chemistry originated in the medieval art of alchemy, which sought to create gold through various transformations. However, these experiments have led to further scientific discoveries that have provided the basis for modern chemistry. 

Science equates to the first year of the University of Manitoba Bachelor of Science program. In Study abroad, Canada, the Faculty of Science offers a wide variety of scientific programs in the province, as well as opportunities for research with world-renowned scientists and the largest collaborative work program in the province. Progress in the second year of the Bachelor of Science degree program can lead to international scholarships for international students in Canada.  

Chemistry is important in all aspects of the productive world - food production; the manufacture of wood, textiles, and plastics; power generation; identifying environmental problems and remedies; and understanding the functioning of living things. Honors programs and co-operatives provide information on government, the private sector and research laboratories. Pursuing a Bachelor's degree abroad in Chemistry leads to research and science careers in fields such as chemical engineering, medicine, or public sciences. Other high-paying job prospects include analytical chemists, engineers, health care scientists, toxic scientists or research scientists.
