Master of Behavioral Finance - MSc
English Requirements
- IELTS Overall Band: 6.5

There is growing evidence that people violate many of the "common" assumptions of mainstream economics. Behavioral Finance is a new field that investigates such violations and proposes ideas to define them. Behavioral Finance is part of Behavioral Economics that studies important "irrationalities" in financial marketplaces. Important topics include common mistakes that people make when deciding how to save money and how to invest, excess trading volume, a premium equity puzzle, bubbles, and financial market forecasts.
Behavioral Finance has grown significantly in popularity in recent years. The Nobel Prize in Economic Science was presented by Daniel Kahneman in 2002 for Behavioral Economics and by Robert Shiller in 2013 for Behavioral Finance. Public interest has been gaining momentum, as evidenced by the popularity of popular literature in these areas. There is also increased interest in government: for example, David Cameron appointed the "Behavioral Insights Team" in 2010 to help develop government policies. The core of the program consists of the first semester module in Behavioral Economics and the second semester module in Advanced Behavioral Finance. In addition to these two modules, students can take modules that cover other traditional topics financially.
Comprehensive Knowledge of Financial Conduct gives students a deeper and clearer understanding of the facts of financial markets than the monopoly funds offer. Such knowledge also makes students vulnerable to common mistakes in their lives and careers. Successfully completing the program will give students valuable skills in a wide range of career fields in areas such as investment, banking, community services, or academy. QMUL graduates move to a variety of career fields in the financial field, especially as analysts, brokers or portfolio managers in investment banking, hedge funds or pension funds. Others are responsible for public policy or marketing. Previous qualifications have developed into roles such as: Business Development Manager, Financial Analysts and Investors and Project Management Practitioners.
