In Australia, the Bachelor of Urban, Rural and Environmental course - one of three Victorian student planning courses - accredited by the Planning Institute of Australia - gives you the opportunity to create communities and establish peaceful, productive and sustainable living environments. She will explore a variety of ways to improve how we live and work, from policy planning and local politics to tourism and urban design. Writing down the vision and encouraging the benefits of change is essential to effective planning. That is why we focus on communication skills such as mediation, negotiation and public relations as part of this course. One of the highlights of your studies will be visiting communities to learn and evaluate what works and what doesn't.
Students participate in field trips to various destinations, from the rural towns of Victoria to major cities in Asia and Europe. For all your qualifications, you will participate in hands-on projects, including semester activities and short visits to communities. This kind of experience is more than just a job placement or a research project, which gives you the opportunity to make a real difference to the community. Just one example is the bicycle ride from our Bandigo Campus to the Bandigo Hospital - a student-led project that was nominated for the Outstanding Student Tertiary Student Award, which celebrates practice, leadership and success in planning.
The Bachelor of Urban, Rural and Environmental at La Trobe University Planning is approved by the Planning Institute of Australia until 2021. Professional registration may require an application from a professional institution and may require additional or ongoing requirements in addition to graduation. Please contact the appropriate library for details. The current shortage of qualified planners in Australia means you can look forward to the best jobs and start earning a living. You may be able to find employment in the planning and environmental management departments of local government, state government departments and agencies, regional associations, research organizations, and private companies. Our Australian planning agency is receiving accreditation for our education.
