Bachelor of Mathematics Education

The University of Wollongong Bachelor of Mathematics Education qualifies you as a high school math teacher and focuses on improving your professional teaching and math skills. Courses of study and math or math courses, you will complete extensive professional knowledge throughout your degree, allowing you to learn by observing and practicing your classroom skills. You may also have opportunities for local and international experiences, studying abroad and the University of Wollongong overseas exchanges and studying with international partners, as well as joining international immersion programs. Mathematics is the basic foundation of many branches of science and commerce. Given the variety of applications, teaching the next generation of mathematicians requires some skills. The University of Wollongong Mathematics Education involves studying math and how to teach it effectively.

During the study period, for four years you will learn a combination of mathematical and numerical studies to allow you to apply both behaviors to your level. Mathematical subjects including numeracy, mathematics, algebra and quantitative mathematics are integrated with academic courses on teaching and learning strategies including teaching and learning, development (methodology and teaching practice), curriculum studies, professional teaching skills and meeting students' needs.
