Course Details

Bachelor of Criminology/Bachelor of Psychological Science program at La Trobe University recognizes the intimate connection between crime and the human mind and its consequences for behavior. It will position you to work in the field of criminal justice, in fields such as police, correctional, juvenile justice, crime prevention and advocacy, intelligence, cultural and cultural intelligence. You will study all areas of psychology content, from the basics to social impact, behavior and psychology, in addition to rigorous research training, and the opportunity to delve deeper into specific areas where staff have research expertise. In addition, you will learn the complex causes of crime and how you can participate in the development of new responses to it. You will explore key issues in criminal justice, and topics such as policing, sentencing and remedial action, foreclosure, and harassment, will help you develop a more comprehensive understanding of key areas of work and employment. You will have the opportunity to improve your skills and build confidence in the job.

La Trobe’s Bachelor of Psychological Science is qualified by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. Professional registration with the Board of Psychology of Australia will require a fourth year approved and additional or ongoing requirements beyond the graduation and application of a professional team.
