BA (Hons) Film and Media Studies

Film and Media Study gives you the opportunity to critically explore both cinema and the range of established, new and emerging media forms, from TV to comics.

Taught by a large group with a variety of interests, you will be able to find consistent research expertise and excellent services in the department dedicated to supporting students as it will inspire them.

Film modules introduce you to the history of cinema and the many ways and genres that have evolved, expand your horizons from Anglo-American film to world cinema, and develop your skills as a hardcore cinema text translator. Media modules have also explored development, forms and criticism, but have focused more on existing and emerging platforms and industries. During your final year at MMU you will focus your research on selected areas of expertise, working with specialist professionals in those fields.
