The course, taught at the Manchester School of Art, focuses on developing contemporary fashion (Womenswear and menswear) and encourages students to be creative and creative while developing an understanding of the needs of the fashion industry. You will be taught how to develop concepts and ideas through an in-depth research and evaluation process, learn how to create and execute original and creative fashion effects and offer fashion ideas through established or new media. Each year you will be doing life and technology courses, with the option of learning a language.
The School of Art provides an active community in which student and staff interaction in other creative fields is particularly encouraged through unit X. The courses have strong links with the industry, which provide an opportunity for outdoor work and participation in competitions, national and international works.
Alumni include Aitor Throup, Matthew Miller and Agape Mdumulla (Agi & Sam) as well as graduates taking positions at major fashion brands including Abercrombie & Fitch, Givenchy, DKNY, Top Man , Louis Vuitton, all Saints and Paul Smith.
