Murray state university is conducting an english as a second language (esl) program to help international students who are not fluent in english to come to kentucky to study.

This program provides english-speaking, listening, reading, and writing instruction while teaching students about american culture. In this program, international students are paired with students from the united states to practice speaking english.

hence, promoting intercultural understanding and awareness between the american and international students, and it results in many american students studying abroad.

Its hot courses for undergraduate students include; animal health technology, agricultural science, nursing, biology, business administration, occupational safety and health.

The eight colleges of murray state are as follows:

• Clark college was founded in august 2007 as the first new residence hall built on campus since 1970. It is also the first residence hall at murray to be specifically designed to support the residential college concept. • Elizabeth college • Hart college • hester college was named for cleo gillis hester • Regents hall was completed in 1970. • richmond college was named after the third president of the university, james h. The student government association known as sga is the officially organized body governing all students and student organizations at murray state university.

The sga promotes the welfare, growth, and development of student life in an environment of academic excellence. It is the student voice and represents the students’ issues and opinions in all phases of administrative effort. Hence, it promotes cooperative efforts for the general welfare of the university community.

The sga consist of four branches: senate, campus activities board, judicial board, and the residential college association. The senate is the main branch of sga and it is the governing body with the power to pass resolutions, bills, rules, and regulations.

Murray state university offers merit based scholarships for student at undergraduate and post graduate level.

Murray state university career services is a comprehensive career department. It is dedicated to assisting murray state students, alums, faculty, staff, and employers with all aspects of career development/recruitment in an inclusive, and welcoming environment.
