Master of Global Public Health - MPH
English Requirements
- IELTS Overall Band: 6.5
Public Health is a matter that focuses on improving the health of the world. Public health experts use the latest research, education and public policies to make sure we all stay healthy and safe from epidemics, food or water poisoning, or other health risks. The great success of the Public Health sector is not limited to the treatment and reduction of communicable diseases. Public Health also ensures safe work practices, healthy mothers and babies, and access to healthy food. In addition, Public Health is about educating people to prevent health risks. Public Health is a growing concern for problems such as obesity and other complex conditions that require special education and training in the health sector.
This new master at Global Public Health provides a foundation for public health training and exposure to health policy analysis, politics, policies, systems and practices. The focus will be on public health issues led by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015: Reproductive, Maternal, Birth and Child Health, Infectious Diseases, Non-Infectious Diseases (NCDs) and Mental Health, Injury and violence, Universal health (UHC) spreads and health systems, environmental and health risks and outbreaks.
You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the health challenges facing individuals and nations in an increasingly globalized world. This course provides the foundation for the development of various professions in public health and epidemiology. Public health focuses on individuals and communities, unlike humans, leading to potential public or government jobs, research, NGOs and the voluntary sector. Although there are many topics covered in this course, you may need roles ranging from health care research, public health analysts, health policy advisers, communicable disease control or public health administrators.
