The Master of Science Development Science courses at London South Bank University have a variety of courses and work on innovation. It provides a comprehensive foundation in the field of development, and its emphasis on research enables students to practice their skills in specific areas of their choice. MSc Development courses are led by Prof Gaim Kibreab and are taught by the best research professors responsible for social and economic development, such as forced migration. See current research projects integrated with the International Development, Emergency and Refugee Study (IDEARS) Research Group. Through case studies you will analyze a range of important, important policy and development issues, such as: Global economic distribution: markets, trade and the global economy; Trade and Assistance: the role of international institutions and agencies; Industrial Strategies: Economic growth and human development; Community Development: lifestyles, poverty and poverty reduction; Rural Development: Agricultural policies, migration and urbanization; Environmental policies and sustainable development; participation and human rights.
The course develops the skills needed to conduct development research, focusing on appropriate methods, data collection, policy and project design and implementation. The research center is an integral part of your work in the study. MSc has excellent relationships with Agency Development and NGOs working in the field of development. Students of these organizations are often enrolled in the course and members of these organizations give regular presentations to MSc students.
