Master of Advanced Computer Science - MSc
English Requirements
- IELTS Overall Band: 6.5
As the computer continues to emerge at an astonishing speed, the latest technology is becoming more and more important every day for organizations across the industry. Our Advanced Computer Science courses provide technology - to help you develop specialized computer skills. You will cover basic units that explore themes around high performance computing, big data, data science, advanced networks and applications. From there, you will have the flexibility to set your course guide - first, with two choice units that cover areas such as business systems, cryptography or mobile computing, and then project your design. While you have individual support for your administration, it's a solo project - as much about developing computer skills as it is about building confidence and independence, essential skills at work. By the time you graduate, you will have been equipped with intellectual and practical skills in computer science - ready to apply your advanced knowledge to real-world situations. In short, you will be ready to embark on a lucrative career path in the field.
The developed skills and insights you will develop in our MSc course can open doors to roles across the industrial, public and private sectors. Learn with us and you'll follow in the footsteps of students who have been software developers, software developers, application developers, web and multimedia developers and software testers (to name a few), working with the likes of Barclays, Autotrader, AZoNetwork and Real-time Dispatch. Your masters can also provide the foundation for further studies - continuing to do a PhD - either living with the Manchester Met or moving elsewhere. You will have support for the special operations of our mission service from day one, and three years after you leave. Among the services available through the Department of Computer and Mathematics and the University's Career Service, you will have access to everything from employer events and professional careers to employment skills workshops and dedicated counselors. Students will also receive PgCert and PgDip prizes during this course.
