BSc (Hons) Human Geography

Study Geography at Manchester met and you will start by finding a good foundation for globalization and global development alongside society, culture, place and place. With so many different options in recent years for your Geography degree, you can look for issues and areas of interest. While we have some of the best teaching facilities on campus, we know that some of the most powerful lessons are learned outside of the classroom. You will therefore have ample opportunity to get involved in homework trips in the UK and abroad, to help you develop and improve your practical skills. Also, if you take a four-year route, you can spend a year working on booking or studying abroad before returning to your final year. Along the way, you will explore important beliefs and ideas - and how they apply to world situations - while developing practical skills and techniques for field and laboratory work. 

This course is also available in Foundation Year. Graduate students receive jobs in travel planning, environmental quality monitoring, business environmental management, urban planning, renewal industry, the international contributing industry and the energy sector. Key employers include private sector environmental consultants, local and regional managers, environmental and trust organizations, and energy and communications companies. MMU’s volunteer and educational work on placement runs a series of job interviews and activities to improve your employment prospects.
