The three-year degree may be used as a pathway to the Bachelor of Psychology, or you can graduate ready to work in one of the many fields where psychological knowledge is highly valued. You can benefit from Charles Sturt University's smaller classes, personalized learning and dedicated lecturers who are leaders in their field. Subject to approval, you may also receive credit for prior study and graduate sooner. When you study this degree you'll gain knowledge in cognition, developmental and social psychology, psychological testing, biopsychology, psychopathology, personality, learning theory and research methodology.
A broad choice of electives is available during this degree for you to avail, including the Psychology of Crime, Health Psychology, Substance Abuse, Psychology and the Legal System, and Psychology of Stress and Trauma. In addition to the compulsory psychology subjects, you will also complete subjects in sociology and a minor to enhance your study experience at the university experience. Minors are available in a range of related disciplines within the study period of this degree including business, history and politics, health and biology, justice studies and Indigenous studies. The degree may also be used as a pathway to the Bachelor of Psychology for students who do not meet the initial entry requirements directly.
