Petroleum engineers work in a variety of industries, most commonly related to exploration, mining, manufacturing, delivery and subsea processing. These fossil fuels are found in the world's oils and oils, but can also include extraction from sand and shales. For the last two years of study, a range of specialized petroleum engineering topics is compiled to prepare students to enter their chosen profession with appropriate knowledge and skills.

The first year of this course includes a set of eight standard units in all engineering honors courses. This allows students the opportunity to develop a well understanding of the several engineering methods offered and the flexibility, if desired, to transition to another engineering course free of exempt after the first year of study. Petroleum Engineers work in various fields related to exploration, mining and mining, development and operation of manufacturing and distribution of crude and processed products as well as downstream processing of electrical products.
