Combining graduate degrees in law and criminal justice at La Trobe University, the program provides high-quality, high-quality education with a strong sense of world justice and a real emphasis on hands-on experience. In Australia, the Bachelor of Laws and Criminology program covers all compulsory law matters required by the Victoria Legal Admissions Board for admission to the legal profession in Victoria and a number of different legal disciplines. Part of the criminal case is for students interested in the major challenges of crime and criminal justice for practitioners and policy makers. Incorporating criminal studies and proposals from other cases to achieve the legal system, this range develops a broader view of the diversity of the fees to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to meet the changing demands of the labor market, and to make a difference in communities for consent and policy development.
All La Trobe University Bachelor of Laws and Juris Doctor Law courses include the courses required by the Victorian Legal Admissions Board to be eligible for admission to the legal profession in Victoria as an Australian lawyer. Admission to the legal profession by the Victoria Supreme Court also requires the completion of practical legal training either up to 12 months of Supervised Legal Training or by completing approved legal courses (for example, at the Leo Cussen Institute or The College of Law). Eligible candidates must also satisfy the Information Board that they are a fit and proper person to be allowed to practice. International graduates will need a valid visa to complete a formal internship in Australia. It is advisable to obtain confirmation of the admission of this course by the appropriate bodies in your preferred country.
The Bachelor of Laws and Criminology aims to give you a career opportunity as a lawyer (see technical recognition for more details), or work in the criminal justice system in various fields. These areas include provincial and federal police, courts, customs, security, remedial, various forms of detention (immigration detention, youth detention, etc.), professional technologies such as forensic psychology and forensic science. Graduate graduates with an understanding of crime and accountability in institutional settings are also increasingly sought after by nonprofit organizations and government departments.
