The Hertfordshire degree offers both creative thinking and technical skills with practical applications in business and society. As economists work in many settings, you will be preparing yourself for a job in government departments, local government, companies and organizations, and in the financial services industry (for example forecasting) in the graduate role you want. You will be equipped with a strong foundation that focuses on different economic perspectives and their relevance in business and financial decision making. You will also acquire benchmarking skills, as well as IT and communication skills, and learn about their use in business contexts as an economist, or in the role of resource allocation in all sectors of the economy.
The course will not only use business economics to explain social, financial and business interactions, but will bring knowledge and understanding to these related areas, apply these challenges and enhance your understanding of their interactions. Professional skills within your degree, besides your voluntary involvement with your Graduate + recruitment, will help you develop as a career-ready graduate, equip you with a range of technical and employment skills that are suitable for many positions. Your course will enhance your intellectual and moral growth, and inspire your commitment to the social purpose of becoming an economist or business analyst. The University of Hertfordshire Business Economics degree allows you to take a year's worth of sandwiches in the industry.
